Shrink sleeve is a waterproofing jacket of a tube coupling. It is an air-tight one-piece material of uniform thickness. Due to this the insulation of a whole heating main is homogeneous and its physical and stress-and-strain properties are same along its full length. A sleeve usually shrinks in cross direction and covers the coupling after the tubes are welded.
A shrink sleeve is considered to be one of the most powerful methods of insulation of heating main couplings. It makes a coupling extent hermetically sealed. Two holes along the edges are made for sealing and its extension consequently.
